You can easily write plug-ins to display and edit your custom data types:

The plug-ins must have the '.plugin' extension and must be installed in either of these two locations (note that tilde (~) is your home directory):
~/Library/0xED/Plug-Ins
/Library/0xED/Plug-Ins
